FOUNDER Brendan Foster hailed today's Great North Run as "the best year yet".
Thousands of runners crossed the finish line on The Leas at South Shields after another record-breaking Great North Run.
Former athlete Brendan Foster, the man who created the run, said it was "the best year yet".
Emergency services gave scores of people first aid after many went went down with cramp, or became dehydrated. No major casualties are reported so far.
