I HOPE that you enjoyed your bank holiday break, I spent the weekend writing my latest newsletter which will be delivered to every house in South Shields at the beginning of July.
When you first elected me as your MP, I promised that I would stay in regular contact with you – hence my decision to write two newsletters a year, hold regular surgeries and deal with thousands of letters each year.

When writing my newsletter,
I like to focus on the good work that is happening in South Shields.

In the next edition, I have mentioned the Whiteleas Junior Football Club, South Tyneside Homes, and Business Breakfast that I attended. My visit to the Whiteleas Junior Football was superb, there must have been ten teams playing, ranging from toddlers to under 18s.

The managers, coaches and parents have proved what hard work and commitment can achieve.

The young people who were playing appreciate the time and effort that others have given to them.

It is an honour to be president of such an excellent community facility.

I even spotted another Arsenal fan at Temple Park Junior School.

Local businesses in the town are very important, and I am always keen to support those who wish to expand.

That is why I agreed to meet business community leaders over breakfast at the Customs House.

The meeting gave us the opportunity to discuss what can be done better.

I'm proud to be your MP, and I am here to help.

My job is to represent you so if I can help you in any way – let me know.

E-mail me at miliband@parliament.uk or call my office on 456 8910.
