HAVING read the letter in last Thursday's Gazette about South Tyneside Council not picking up rubbish from King Street and Ocean Road, South Shields, I would like to ask whose fault is it for the rubbish?
If more people who live or visit the town used the bins provided along the streets, we would not have the problem of rubbish littering everywhere.

It is our responsibility to keep the town centre looking tidy, as much as it is the council's.

People who drop litter should be fined a small amount of money, and maybe it would make others think twice in the future.

L Stobbs,
South Shields.
