FIREFIGHTERS are urging parents to warn their children about turning into firebugs.
The plea comes after a skip, in North Road, East Boldon, filled with building materials was set on fire, last night.

The incident, which happened at 11.35pm, was captured on CCTV, which will be passed on to South Tyneside's Arson Task Force to investigate.

Acting watch manager Stu Dobson, of Fullwell fire station, said: "We would encourage parents to speak to their children about the dangers of starting fires and to know where their children have been.

"Starting fires like this ties up important resources which could be needed in an emergency."
