TONIGHT'S the night! Out of this World, the Gazette's 10th anniversary fashion show, blasts off at the Customs House today and tomorrow.

Rehearsals at the weekend saw our Face of 2009 hopefuls shooting for the stars.

We have some great routines which will leave our audience starstruck as we celebrate our milestone birthday.

Gazette editor John Szymanski said: "Preparations have gone really well and we are expecting it to be a fantastic show. Everyone is really excited as we count down the hours.

"I would urge anyone to come along, support South Tynesiders doing their bit for local charities and be hugely entertained by a top quality show."

The show has been inspired by the International Year of Astronomy and the 40th anniversary of the moon landing and will take on a futuristic theme.

Fashion Show director Peter Darrant, who has choreographed the show and will also be hosting on both nights, said: "This year's show is aptly named because it will definitely be out of this world.

"Rehearsals have been a blast and the models have had a galaxy of fun, and I guarantee the audience will have a fantastic night which will be remembered for many years into the future."

There will also be great prizes up for grabs throughout both nights and a whole host of tomorrow's super stars will be performing.

* Out of this World is sponsored by Thompsons Solicitors, Asda in Boldon, Colmans, Barbour, and Smithson Jewellers with Nomination Jewellery.

Tickets are £10, including a goody bag, and are available from the Customs House box office on 454 1234.
