Hawks nesting in a suburb of Boise, Idaho, have begun dive-bombing passers-by to defend their territory.
Locals say the Swainson hawks have returned to the area for years but this time have gone on the offensive.
Experts say the aggressive behaviour is a form of protection for chicks sitting high above in the trees.
