SEXY girl band Irresistible certainly lived up to their name when Britain's Got Talent judges thought they were just that.
Jayne Welch, 23, and Gemma Park, 22, both from Hebburn, make up the band along with Amy Wilkinson, 22, from Wallsend.

And their version of the Andrews Sisters' Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy wowed judges Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell, who loved their 1940s sound.

Now the girls are down to the final 200 from thousands of applicants and hope to make the live semi-finals.

Jayne, who was born in South Shields, and has been performing professionally since she was 15, said: "We entered on a whim and got three 'yeses' and some really great comments.

"We didn't know what to expect, and we said we'd take anything they said constructively but still carry on.

"But Amanda said we were a 'class act', Piers said we had 'fantastic vocals' and Simon said he thought we were 'great'.

"We were just not expecting to get this far, it's amazing.

"We feel like we've done so well getting this far already, so anything else is just a bonus."

Jayne started Irresistible two years ago, and she and Gemma – or Jemima as she's known to the band – have been together from the start. Amy joined just last year.

Jayne said: "Our vocals gel, we get on really well, and we're happy with the way we come across and look.

"We do an era show with everything from the 1940s to present day.

"We were performing it for six weeks at Blackpool, and a DJ we were working with said he'd watched us every night and thought we should go in for Britain's Got Talent.

"His mum had got him an application form and he said he wanted us to have it. We thought 'why not?'

"We went down for an audition and were asked to come back in front of the judges. We got three 'yeses' and now we're down to the deliberation stages.

"We've just got to keep our fingers crossed and see if we make it through.

"If we do we'll make the live semi-finals, so keep watching and find out where we get to."

Britain's Got Talent is on every Saturday on ITV1 until the beginning of June.
