Time - it’s a crime to waste it

WELCOME to this week’s short and sweet edition of ‘Go For It’.

We kick off this week with the launch of this year’s If We Can You Can challenge, a competition I was lucky enough to be a finalist in last year.

The challenge, run by the Entrepreneurs Forum and in partnership with local media across the region, including our very own Shields Gazette, is all about encouraging people to take that vital next step in their business journey. And whatever stage on the road you’ve reached, whether you’re ‘a thinker’, ‘a starter’ or ‘a grower’, you shouldn’t be put off from entering.

From my experience of the competition last year, it is a great way to get FREE PR. Whether you win, or don’t even get shortlisted, I would certainly go for it anyway!

You can find all the information about the challenge in more detail here: http://ifwecanyoucan.co.uk/challenge

Something I want to touch upon this week is the importance of time.

Each of us has 24 hours in a day. The same 24 hours you have is the same 24 hours I have and is the same 24 hours Richard Branson and Mark Zuckerberg have.

We’re all on a level playing field. I think people forget that what you do and how hard you work is totally down to you.

If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. Stop doing things that aren’t vitally important or effect what you want in life and start doing those things that make a difference.

Wake up, start living your dream and wearing your passion. It’s your time and it’s the most precious thing you will ever have.

Being an entrepreneur is a lifestyle. It’s a true rollercoaster journey with ups and downs.

The important thing is to remember, each time you get knocked down, as hard as it can be, you need to get yourself back up again and hit back harder than ever before. Don’t let anyone get to you, don’t let people knock you or snigger at your dreams. Be yourself, keep trying, keep a positive mindset and with the right choices and a bit of luck along the way you can do whatever you want in life.

Keep going for it.
