Which celebs did you spot in Run?

SPOT the celebrity was one of the favourite games for spectators at today's Great North Run - and there were plenty to choose from.

Among them were more than 30 soap stars from Coronation Street and Emmerdale, who joined forced to raise money for Leukaemia Research.

The runners, dubbed the Banana Army because of their bright yellow running vests, were joined by former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell, now the charity chairman of fundraising.

The Emmerdale team included Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard), Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe) and Tony Audenshaw (Bob Hope).

Coronation Street was represented by Vicky Binns (Molly Compton), Conor Ryan (Len Windass), Graham Hawley (John Stape) and Rachel Leskovac (Natasha Blakeman), among others.

Fans close to the start line will have hoped for a glimpse of the starters, Geordie pop star Sting and Ashes-winning cricket hero Steve Harmison.

Other celebrity runners include Hull City's South Shields-born manager Phil Brown, who was tackling the run for the first time at the age of 50.

Also running were model Nell McAndrew, Apprentice 'Pants Man' Philip Taylor, TV chef Gordon Ramsay, and a team of presenters from the BBC's ever-popular children's programme Blue Peter.
