Branley special: How dare they delay rent cut
I WORK full time, receiving only the minimum wage, and I am a council house tenant, and pay full rent and council tax.
I have to be careful about how I spend my money and, in the current climate and with the school holidays coming up, am grateful for any extra financial support I can get.
I work damned hard to pay my bills and look after my children.
I was, therefore, extremely upset to read in the Gazette that Coun Branley's protest at the council meeting on Thursday, June 25, prevented councillors agreeing to a reduction in the council house rents.
How dare she disrupt a meeting like this to try to make a statement justifying her husband's actions in not attending his meetings and being kicked off the council as a result.
If she cannot behave herself, she should follow her husband and leave the council.
Perhaps then, people like me can get the promised reduction in our rents.
