End abuse to all animals
I AGREE wholeheartedly with Simone Smith's letter (Gazette, January 28) about circuses being cruel places for animals.
In this day and age, you would think that a stop could be put to all animal abuse.
I see something horrible most days when I'm out and about, and it can really be upsetting.
I don't understand why some people have a pet if it is so obviously a nuisance in their lives – dogs left outside in the freezing cold weather, barking at the fence when someone passes by.
And the way I see some men bully their dogs outside in the open makes me shudder to think what goes on behind closed doors.
Do animal abusers not think there may be a price to pay?
All living creatures are precious. You only have to look in an animal's eyes, and you will see a soul there.
