Rare praise for traffic warden
RECENTLY, I visited South Shields with some relatives from Coventry.
I am a disabled badge holder, but bought an all-day ticket for the seafront car park as I wasn't sure of the local rules.
We had a lovely day, but when I returned to my car, there was a note on the windscreen.
The note had been written by a traffic warden telling me I didn't need to buy a ticket because my badge was displayed correctly. However, my badge was photo side up.
By coincidence, the warden came into the car park just as we where about to leave and asked us if we had read his note.
He also explained to us that the tickets were transferable and could be used in other foreshore car parks.
I must compliment him on his polite, helpful and courteous attitude as traffic wardens are always criticised and never get any praise for a difficult job.
Let's give credit where credit is due.
