ELVIS Presley fans will be left all shook up by an anniversary concert for the King tomorrow.
To mark the passing of the rock 'n' roll icon at his Graceland home in 1977, a fundraising concert will be held at Club Hastings in Hebburn.
Proceeds from the concert will help fund community projects around the Lukes Lane Estate.
The star of the show will be South Shields Elvis impersonator Owen Curran, who goes by the stage name of the Memphis King.
Classic hits from Elvis's rock 'n' roll beginnings to his glittery Las Vegas years will be featured.
John Bissett, spokesman for the event's organiser, Lukes Lane Community Group, said: "We were kicking ideas around for August, and we came up with the idea of marking the 31st anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley with a special concert. We have already sold about 40 tickets, but would like to fill the concert with Elvis fans."
Mr Curran, 60, a gardener by trade, became hooked on the King through his partner, Janet Hudson. Ms Hudson said: "Owen and I met at a karaoke, and I introduced him to Elvis's music, because I'd been a fan for years.
"Owen has played an Elvis anniversary concert before on August 16, and he's now getting quite a bit of work.
"He's got a new Elvis Las Vegas-style costume, and he's really looking forward to the Hebburn concert."
Saturday's concert will also feature Stu's Hot Wax Disco.
The show starts at 7pm. Tickets, priced at £3, are available from Club Hastings, or by calling John on 423 4239 or Diane on 428 0056.
