MUSIC lovers can catch a free gig this weekend in an unlikely venue - a Tyneside book store.
Lou Rhodes, the former singer with trip-hop outfit Lamb, is doing a solo performance at Borders bookstore at Team Valley, Gateshead, on Saturday, October 27.
The Mercury Award nominee will be playing songs from her new album Bloom from 4pm, and admission is free.
Rhodes' debut album Beloved One earned her a Mercury nomination last year, and although she didn't win, it helped establish her as a solo artist.
She had taken a step back from the electronic intricacies of Lamb and embraced a folk aesthetic that provided an intimate forum for her haunting voice.
