REAL Athletic beat Consett Cubs 2-0 in Serie A Division 2 of the Chase Holmes Youth League.
On the mark for Real was Calderwood, who bagged a fine double to send his side home happy.

An impressive Hebburn Town Blues side defeated Primrose Juniors 3-1 in an entertaining league game.

Griffin was on the mark for Primrose, with Sewell,
Neil and Gardiner scoring for the Blues.

There was a great tie between Leam Rangers Greens and Primrose Ravens, who went behind to a superb strike from Pilcher for the Leam.

The game was end to end in the boggy conditions, with both sides playing some great attacking football.

With time running out for Primrose they piled men forward, and right at the death Gragg fired in low to put the game into extra time.

There was no change in extra time, which meant sudden-death penalties.

Leam's Mulligan pulled off a great save to give his side the advantage, but Gunn in goal for the Ravens was in top form too, and saved equally as well.

In the nail-biting finale it was the Ravens who held their nerve and went through 3-1. Leam's Lee was star man.

Monkton Vipers took on Harraton Athletic, and the Washington side got an almighty shock, with the spirited Vipers giving as good as they got in a match which swung either way.

Harraton had the edge on attacking, but Vipers defence and keeper Agar were in top form.

Harraton eventually got the all-important winner thanks to a great strike from Mitchell.

FC Sparta scored a great 6-2 win over Fatfield FC, with hero Carson bagging an amazing five goals, along with a good strike from Williamson.

Black and Rousell netted well for Fatfield, and a mention must go to Cox, who was outstanding for the Jarrow side.

In Serie A Division 1, there was only one first round tie, as Leam Rangers Yellows battled it out with Hebburn Town Gold.

It was the Hebburn side who dominated most of the game against a brave Leam side.

Town emerged as 4-0 victors thanks to the prolific Robson, who netted all four to put his side through to the quarter-finals.
