A truly disgusting situation

I HAVE read with great disbelief and disgust the story regarding Bamburgh Court Care Home (Gazette, March 28).
Being a pensioner myself, and a full-time carer to my wife who suffers from dementia, I find it very hard to believe that a sickening situation such as this was left unnoticed for such a length of time.

These are people we are dealing with, not caged animals left to roam the hallways and corridors.

It is hard enough to have to make the decision to have a member of your family put into care, for whatever reason, without a situation like this happening.

Joe Grant,
Compton Avenue,
South Shields.
