THE Horsley Hill Estate in South Shields is not a no-go area for takeaway drivers.
I have been told that Gills fish and chip shop at the Nook does deliver to the estate.

At one time, like other outlets, it did not, but because of the improvements made by residents, it resumed deliveries 18 months ago.

Nowhere is perfect, but the huge strides made in the last five years should not be ignored.

The residents' association was even awarded a Pride of South Tyneside award for the hard work it had put in.

So I ask you, in all fairness to an estate full of people who have dragged themselves off the bottom, to print my letter and let the readers make their own judgement.

Coun Eileen Leask,
Horsley Hill.
