In celebration of NHS staff
Published Date:

WE are so fortunate in this area to have South Tyneside District Hospital.
Recently, I injured my foot and was taken to the hospital casualty department, where I had excellent treatment.
I saw a consultant, had two x-rays and was seen by the consultant again – all in just over an hour.
Over the past 18 months I have had two operations and attended the oncology department, and every single member of staff I have met – the surgeon, registrar, all the nurses on the ward and the domestic staff, as well as all the oncology staff – were brilliant.
They showed great expertise and were most encouraging and reassuring at all times.
I am most indebted to them.
We hear so much criticism of the NHS, I feel we should celebrate the success and good work done in our area.
