THE opening ceremony for the Beijing Olympics was a wonderful sight.
It was good to see all those thousands of folk from all corners of the world greeting each other with such enthusiasm.

Why do we have wars, with we humans destroying one another?

How marvellous it would be if all the resources and effort that go into the various wars raging worldwide could be put to help the weak and needy of this earth.
