Privatisation working so well!

I WAS delighted to read in the Gazette of the massive £50m boost for South Shields which could create 1,250 jobs over a 10-year period – with 250 in the first year – with the development of Harton Staithes,.
I note BT, the preferred bidder, is lining up its UK local government base and is "looking forward to developing a successful partnership with South Tyneside Council and that about 450 council employees are being transferred to BT".
I am pleased the council are privatising these services, following on the others they privatised such as refuse collections, car parks, housing and the sale of caravan parks.
We also have private finance initiatives funding new schools, and the £63m, 25-year contract for our street lighting.
There is no doubt Margaret Thatcher will be proud of South Tyneside's Labour-run council for continuing her policies of privatisation.
