A RECENT survey commissioned by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has revealed that many people are still unaware of how they can reduce their cancer risk.
I am writing to let your readers know there is convincing scientific evidence that we can reduce this risk by eating healthily, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight.

In fact, scientists estimate about a third of cancers could be prevented just by following WCRF's recommendations.

This is a positive message because it means you can make choices today that can have long-term health benefits.

The benefits from following these recommendations can also help prevent
other chronic diseases.

If people in the local area want to find out more about cancer prevention, they can visit our website at
www.wcrf-uk.org/recommendations.

Lisa Cooney,
Head of education,
World Cancer Research Fund.
