MORE names have been pulled out of the hat for a spell-binding spectacular in South Tyneside.

Some of the world’s most talented magicians will be appearing at the South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2012, which will include two international gala shows, on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10, at the Customs House in South Shields.

Organisers South Tyneside Council and magician Martin Duffy have now confirmed the final line-up for both events, which will feature some of the best and most respected performers from across the globe.

Multi-award-winning magician ‘Levent’, international comedian Rob Torres and Germany’s ‘Der Mentalist’, Markus Beldig, will all be appearing at the first international gala show, where they will be joined by American David Regal, who has written for several TV shows, including Everybody Loves Raymond.

UK-based magical duo High Jinx will also be on the bill, performing a series of illusions.

The evening will be compered by North East magician John Archer, who gained national acclaim and the chance to perform in Las Vegas after bamboozling world-famous duo Penn and Teller on their ITV show Fool Us, in 2010.

Levent, High Jinx and David Regal will also all be making encore performances at the second international gala show.

They will be joined by UK variety entertainer Mat Ricardo, who can be seen performing his famous reverse tablecloth trick in a TV advert for income insurance, and will be making his South Tyneside International Magic Festival debut. Coun Tracey Dixon, lead member for leisure and community safety for South Tyneside Council, said: “The South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2012 features one of the most varied line-ups in the event’s nine-year history, and it will be fantastic to see such an eclectic mix of performers coming together on the Customs House stage.”

Tickets for both international gala shows are already selling fast and available from the Customs House box office, priced £13 each or £12 concessions.

A combined ticket, including entry to both international gala shows and a family magic extravaganza, which is being held at the Customs House on Wednesday, March 7, is also available, priced at £25.
