A taste of Americana from Deacon Blue pair
ALBUM REVIEW McINTOSH ROSS The Great Lakes (Cooking Vinyl) THIS is the first album by Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh, the husband and wife at the centre of 1980s Scottish popsters Deacon Blue.
Don't expect a DB record, because it's not one, and it's not a RR solo effort either, but that doesn't mean it's a bad album.
Lorraine mainly sang backing and harmonies in DB, but here she's allowed to use her beguiling voice to good effect as they dip their toes into Americana. Worth a listen. 6/10 GW
