FRONTMAN Jake Burns recently turned 50, but still plays and sings with the energy and passion of a man half his age.
Many of his audience, too, won't see 40 again, but they've spawned a new generation of fans, as nowadays they fetch their kids too.
What you see is what you get with SLF: heart-on-the-sleeve punk rock anthems which make you dance, sing and jump up and down.
Most of this set was drawn from their first two albums, with crowd-pleasers such as Suspect Device, Barbed Wire Love, Fly The Flag and Nobody's Hero present and correct.
Only three songs - No Surrender, Harp, and Strummerville - came from albums since the band's 1991 reformation, and that was a shame, as they've included some cracking stuff.
Not a soul in the near-capacity crowd will have gone home disappointed with their latest dose of SLF though, particularly after they closed their 90-minute set with encores of old favourites Johnny Was and Alternative Ulster. Roll on next year.
