ASHLEIGH Stone, from Jarrow and Hebburn AC, soared to the junior girls' long jump title with an excellent leap of 5.19m in the Durham Schools Championships at Monkton Stadium on Saturday.

onal Standard, but well inside the English Schools Entry Standard of 5.05m.
James Lovatt, also from the Jarrow club, surged clear of Matthew Bayne of South West Durham in the ES of 24.1 for another resounding South Tyneside victory, with the area's Nick Wood third in 25.4.
Tom Derbyshire cleared 1.65m in the junior boys' high jump, 15cm ahead of Durham Central's Stephen Shaw, but seven centimetres short of the ES.
Cleadon's Andrew Stanton was a runaway winner of the senior boys' 800m with a fast time of 1:55.4, only two fifths of a second outside the tough ES.
Laura Watt, from South Shields Harriers, won the senior girls' high jump with 1.62m, but missed the ES by four centimetres.
Alice Ramsey was first in the javelin with 24.52m, with Michelee Bratton second on 21.12.
Josh Abladey was edged out by inches in the senior boys' 400m, as Durham Central's Michael Dixon gained the verdict by a tenth of a second with 54.3.
Andrew Harle was 1.5m down on Derwentside's Phil Brown with 12.60m in the shot, and Phillipe Goessen clocked 24.2 for third in the inter boys 200m.
Janet Abladey finished second in 43.2 to a record-breaking 300m run of 41.4 from Easington's Nicola Pearson, with Victoria Addison third in 46.9.
India Sharpe reached 1.56m in the inter girls' high jump, but Durham Central's Jennifer Baker secured the title with 1.62m.
Katherine Bulmer was only two centimetres behind Aimee Welsey of West Wearside with 9.53m in the junior girls' shot, and Michael Holmes was also second in the junior boys shot with 11.15m.
Jamie Butler finished fourth in the junior boys' long jump with 4.96m, and Erin Rodgers also missed the bronze by one position in the junior girls' high jump, with 1.36m.
Rachel Bennett was fourth in the inter girls' 800m in 2:36.6 while Georgie Casey finished well below her usual form with sixth in the junior girls' 75m hurdles.
Daniel Coutakis was fifth in the inter boys' 400m in 55.5 with Rob Gillespie sixth in the 100m in 12.2, and Katie Corner finished sixth in the junior girls' 100m in 13.8.
Former Jarrow star Angela Hunter finished 18th in a large women's field in the Nike Blaydon Race on Saturday night.
Hunter was 125th overall in the mixed event of 4000 in 35:39 for the 5.8 miles, as Kenya's Cathy Mutwa won in 30:15.
Graeme Thompson, from Jarrow and Hebburn AC, was 110th in 35:42, as Kenyan Tewodros Shiferaw was first in 26:28.
