Attackers await sentence

A GANG which burst into the home of a South Tyneside man and beat him into a coma was to be sentenced today.
John Hall, 48, remained unconscious for three months after five men dragged him from his bed and attacked him in Avonmouth, near Bristol, in September last year.

Lee Hale, 27, and Paul Hale, 51, from Severn Beach, Jason Glanville, 31, from Pilning, Ryan Hill, 24, from Yatton, and David Hill, 41, from Avonmouth, were charged with wounding with intent.

They will learn their fate at Bristol Crown Court today.
