FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue after a youngster became trapped on the roof of a builder's cabin.
A Hebburn fire crew was dispatched after a 10-year-old boy climbed on top of the metal container at the corner of Stanley Street and Minster Parade, Jarrow, at 8pm yesterday.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "This young lad had been on top of the cabin for quite some time and was in a bit of a state after he discovered he could not climb down.
"I believe his friends rang the fire brigade when they realised he was stuck.
"We used a short extension ladder to reach him and bring him down to safety.
"He was shook up and upset but unhurt."
