Cyclist hurt in road collision

A TEENAGE cyclist injured his back when he was knocked off his bike by a car.
The 16-year-old was riding round Cauldwell roundabout in South Shields yesterday, when he was clipped by a Volkswagon Passat as he passed the Cemetery Road junction.

The accident happened at 3.40pm, and the boy, from South Shields, was taken to South Tyneside District Hospital by ambulance.

He was treated for a bruised back and cuts to his legs.
