Miss Luke, of South Shields, has become a global star, thanks to her make-up tutorials on YouTube.

The single mum used to be hampered by a lack of confidence because she was self-conscious about her uneven teeth.

But after dentist Dr Ken Harris carried out work at his Riveredge Cosmetic Dentistry surgery in Sunderland the 27-year-old said she got the confidence to smile.

Handing over a signed copy of her best-selling book, Miss Luke said: "Before I had the work carried out, I didn't smile because I never wanted anyone to see my teeth.

"The book is full of pictures of me, and there's no way, without the help of Riveredge, that I would have been able to have them taken."

Dr Harris, who has surgeries in Sunderland and Newcastle, added: "We are all delighted that Lauren has done so well, and that we've played a part in that – and the fact that's she's included us in her book is fantastic."
