Drugs raid on Commando pub

SEVERAL people were arrested last night after a drugs raid at a South Shields pub.
Police swooped on the Commando pub in the town's Market Place at 8.40pm to issue warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Several people were arrested in connection with drugs-related offences.
They are being held in custody awaiting questioning.

The pub was issued with a closure order in relation to drugs offences and other breaches of the Licensing Act.
