THE axing of a Hebburn post office was blasted by town councillors today.
Royal Mail has announced Victoria Road West Post Office is on its closure list.
It is one of four South Tyneside branches earmarked for closure, following an announcement earlier today.

"This office is a community facility, and it will mean old people will have to walk from the Hartleyburn area to Hebburn town centre or elsewhere to access these services.
"This is not good for the town, and all the Hebburn councillors are singing from the same hymn sheet on this issue, and oppose such closures."
