BROWNIES from South Shields are bringing some festive cheer to soldiers this Christmas.
The girls, parents and leaders of the 8th South Shields Brownie Pack, based at St Michael's And All Angels Church in Westoe Road, South Shields, have been collecting items to pack into shoeboxes for those out in Afghanistan.

So far they have packed almost 30 boxes, and aim to make more.

Brown Owl Sheena Kaupa said: "We have been astounded by the generosity of parents, children and work colleagues.

"This is a magnificent effort by the Brownies. Well done."
