Handbag snatched from pensioner

A PENSIONER had her handbag snatched as she shopped in a town centre store.
The 72-year-old was in Asda, South Shields, when she spotted her trolley moving away from her.

When she turned round, she saw a man grab her handbag before running away.

A 47-year-old man was arrested and was due to appear at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court today, charged with theft.
