FITNESS buffs can get in shape on the move, thanks to a Jarrow business.
Healthclub TV is the brainchild of former personal trainer and managing director Chris Cooke.

It works much the same as iTunes, except users download videos of workouts instead of music to their mobile phones, iPods and computers.

Once downloaded, they have instant access to a variety of workouts, from aerobics to pilates.

Mr Cooke said: "I have 16 years' experience as a personal trainer, and during that time people would often ask me for an exercise they could do while on holiday or while they were doing this, that and the other.

"I thought there must be a way of combining exercise routines in an easy, accessible way.

"Users just need to click, browse, download and workout. It's instant, easy access to all your essential workouts – any time, anywhere.

"The service is marketed towards people who have active lifestyles and don't have time to attend the gym."

Mr Cooke, originally from Hartlepool but now living in Felling, said he set up his business at Tedco in Jarrow after hearing about the growth of businesses in South Tyneside .

From next month, Fenwick's department store in Newcastle will start selling vouchers for Healthclub TV so people can download and try out the different workouts.

Now Mr Cooke is looking for the face of his new brand at an open audition this weekend.

Healthclub TV is looking for males and females aged 16 and above at the Millennium Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle from 10am tomorrow.

By becoming the face of Healthclub TV, three lucky winners will win a £1,000 modelling contract and a full modelling portfolio worth more than £1,000.

Mr Cooke said: "This is a great opportunity for anyone.

"We want a real face for Healthclub TV, ideally someone who has a sporty background and enjoys a healthy lifestyle.

"We really want someone enthusiastic and motivated to grab the chance to be part of Healthclub TV's online marketing and advertising campaign.

"Every participant will receive a free gift when they audition.

"This great prospect can open many doors for the lucky winners. Their face will be seen by thousands of people every day.

"I hope to see lots of people at the auditions for this fantastic career opportunity."

Auditionees should be prepared with suitable gym clothes.
