Metro sex attack on teenage girl

A MAN is being hunted by police after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on the Metro.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the incident took place on a Metro service travelling between Newcastle Central and East Boldon on Saturday, April 26, between 9.40pm and 10pm.

A man is believed to have sexually assaulted a teenage girl on bo
ard the service.

The attacker is then thought have travelled through to South Hylton station where he left the service only to get back on and travel back to Newcastle Central.

He was 5ft 9in, fat, aged 45-55, bald on top with grey hair at the sides, wearing glasses, a blue/grey fleece with a white T-shirt underneath, and smelled of alcohol.

Pc David Burns of BTP said: "The victim was made to feel uncomfortable and frightened and was left extremely upset and shocked following the incident.

"I am appealing to anyone who was travelling on the Metro on the night in question, or who may have come into contact with this man, or anyone who recognises the description, to come forward."
