THE boys are back in town, and they're going to be creating the perfect atmosphere in outer space.

Our 'Astronaughties' – Karl Newton, Jonny Hailstone, Gavin Mole, Greg Wyllie and newcomer Chris Jacobson, all 24 – are promising to take the Gazette's annual fashion show into another galaxy.

This year's show is called Out of this World, and it's on at the Customs House in South Shields on Monday and Tuesday, July 13 and 14.

The show's theme is inspired by the Inter-national Year of Astronomy and the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, and our team of five will perform a space-age routine just for the ladies.

Gazette graphic designer Karl Newton, of Jarrow, said: "This is our fourth year on stage, and we know it's going to be out of this world. The fashion show is always a fantastic occasion.

"It's definitely an event we look for and mark down on our calendars every year.

"We love the atmosphere, the people behind the scenes, and the excitement.

"It's great to have fun and help out, as well as hopefully making people laugh.

"This time we have a new lad in, Chris, and after watching us in it for the last few years, he has eventually found the time to join us.

"We are really looking forward to this year's show, and hope it's a huge success for everyone taking part.

"The crowd is always fantastic, and I hope they get behind us once again."

The rest of the team are IT executive Jonny Hailstone and mechanical engineer Chris Jacobson, both of Jarrow, and graphic designer Greg Wyllie and IT executive Gavin Mole, both of South Shields.

Out of this World will raise cash for the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund and Cancer Connections.

The show is being sponsored by Thompsons Solicitors, Asda in Boldon, Colman's, Barbour, and Smithson Jewellers with Nomination Jewellery.

Tickets are £10, including a goody bag, and prizes are up for grabs.
