A VISITOR to Sunderland Greyhound Stadium was discovered snorting cocaine in a toilet, a court heard.
A door supervisor heard a man sniffing in a cubicle at the Newcastle Road stadium in East Boldon on Saturday night.
He waited until Stuart O'Connor left the cubicle to approach him.
When he searched him, two packs of white powder fell to the floor, South Tyneside Magistrates' Court was told.
O'Connor, 29, of Wordsworth Avenue, Whitley Bay, told the supervisor he had bought the cocaine for £43, and that it was for his own personal use.
He was taken to South Shields Police Station for questioning and remained in custody over the weekend.
Appearing before magistrates yesterday, O'Connor admitted an offence of possession of a controlled drug. He was fined £100 with £65 costs.
Val Bell, defending, said her client had been fully co-operative with stadium staff and police.
Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drug.
