Raiders steal pet birds

BIRDS worth £1,000 have been stolen from an aviary in the garden of a South Shields home.
Thieves broke in at the Marsden Lane property during the night after smashing the lock.

The incident happened between 7pm Tuesday and 9.30am Wednesday.

Anyone with information or who saw anyone acting suspiciously is asked to contact police on 03456 043 043.
