THE designer behind Princess Diana's iconic wedding dress has been dishing out fashion tips in the region.
David Emanuel spent the day mingling with shoppers in The Galleries, Washington and The Bridges, Sunderland, to celebrate his clothing collection for Bonmarché.

And despite being more used to dressing the likes of Madonna and Elizabeth Taylor, the couturier reckons that meeting high street shoppers can be just as fun.

Speaking at The Galleries, he said: "It's been fantastic. The thing about meeting the general public is that you never know what they are going to say.

"Everyone's been lovely. I suppose they don't meet designers every day. I want women to look great, that's my job. But it doesn't have to be head to toe David Emanuel. Just three or four pieces a season can change a woman's wardrobe."

The designer became a household name in 1981 after creating Diana's distinctive wedding dress.
