A HEBBURN singer hit the top notes with music judges.
Katie McDonald, 22, took part in a talent contest, organised by The Listening Company, Newcastle, where she works.

Miss McDonald, of Price Street, Hebburn, won the top prize after wowing judges with numbers by Pink and Anastacia.

She said: "I got through a regional round at a venue in Newcastle, and was amazed when they flew me down to Portsmouth for the final.

"My prize includes time in a recording studio. I was amazed to win, because the only singing I'd done previously was in karaoke."
