JARROW Arrow Steve Cram got on his marks to launch a major photographic exhibition featuring his own portrait.
The former South Tyneside international athlete last night officially opened North Face, at Bede's World in Church Bank, Jarrow.

The display features a portrait of the Olympic athlete by Paolo Roversi, plus items from his glittering track career.

Nine of the pictures in the exhibition, including one of Steve Cram, are on loan from the National Portrait Gallery, London.

They feature celebrities from the fields of music, performance, creative arts, broadcasting, sport and journalism in North East England.

The North Face exhibition is open at Bede's World until Sunday, May 18.
