Teenager knocked down by car

A TEENAGER was taken to hospital with a head injury after he was knocked down by a car.

The 16-year-old ran into New Road, Boldon Colliery, and hit his head off the windscreen of the Hyundai Amica at about 10.20pm last night.

He was walking wounded, and paramedics took him to South Tyneside District Hospital.
