VIDEO footage taken by the Shields Gazette has been used as evidence in an assault trial involving a South Tyneside councillor.
An incident between Beacon and Bents Independent Alliance representative Coun Ahmed Khan and Lalon Amin, a prominent Bangladeshi community leader, was filmed while a reporter covered the launch of the Cultures Together festival on South Shields Town Hall Steps in June.
Yesterday, a judge cleared Coun Khan of assault after a trial at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court.
