LOOK at the one that got away ...
Big Brother contestant Charlie Drummond entered the Face of 2008, but judges did not put him through.

A fantastic crop of boys turned out for the audition, while Cleadon lad Charlie sent his picture in.

And without seeing him strut his stuff, judges opted to leave him out.

The 22-year-old is getting himself quite a reputation as a joker in the Big Brother house – so maybe he would have caused chaos backstage.

Tyne Tees Models boss Lesley Lister, who was on the judging panel, said: "We were inundated last year, and unfortunately thought it was only fair to chose from the boys who turned up.

"It's a shame, because he's a real cutie and has piercing blue eyes. It would have been nice to meet him, but there's always one who gets away."

And fellow judge, Gazette editor John Szymanski, added: "We had to give priority last year to the boys who turned up for the auditions on the day.

"It was a shame we didn't get to meet Charlie at the auditions. He seems to be doing extremely well on Big Brother, and is one of the more popular housemates.

"If Charlie wants to audtion next year for the show, we'd be more than happy to meet him."

Ms Lister will be choosing our Face of 2009 in this year's fashion show.

This year marks our 10th show and is called Out of this World.

It's on at the Customs House in South Shields, on July 13 and 14.

It will raise cash for the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund and Cancer Connections.

Out of This World is being sponsored by Thompsons Solicitors, Asda in Boldon, Colmans, Barbour, and Smithson Jewellers with Nomination Jewellery.

Tickets are £10, including a goody bag, and prizes are up for grabs.

For tickets and further details of the show, call the Customs House box office on 454 1234.
