BBC’s dog walk feature postponed

POSTPONED ... the BBC feature on the Great North Dog Walk will be rearranged.

POSTPONED ... the BBC feature on the Great North Dog Walk will be rearranged.

a BBC show featuring South Tyneside’s Great North Dog Walk has been rearranged.

The episode of the CBBC programme Who Let The Dogs Out And About, due to be broadcast at 9am on Saturday, has been moved to Saturday, March 2 because of scenes which also feature avalanche rescue dogs in Cairngorms, in the Scottish Highlands.

Three people died after an avalanche in the Cairngorms last Thursday, leading BBC bosses to make a late schedule change.

The programme takes a special look at the Great North Dog Walk, which attracted a record-breaking 23,301 four-legged entries to South Tyneside last year.

Great North Dog Walk organiser Tony Carlisle has backed the move to switch the broadcast.
