ON THE UP ... Eddie Czestochowski and staff at Cell Pack Solutions are celebrating a year in their new premises.

A BATTERY company is charging up for more jobs after celebrating its first year at its new base in South Tyneside.

Cell Pack Solutions moved into a purpose-built factory at West Walpole Street, Rekendyke, South Shields, last summer, as part of its expansion programme.

Now the company is poised to recruit new staff and create apprenticeships as the battery business powers up for more growth.

Managing director Eddie Czestochowski admitted the firm had gone through “a few traumatic years” of building development, but said the company is now set for expansion.

The move came after the firm outgrew is previous base at Tedco Business Works in Henry Robson Way, South Shields.

The battery firm has now settled into its new 9,000sq ft base and is seeing the benefits of bringing all the business under one roof.

And it should not be long before the 25-strong operation is boosted with more staff.

Mr Czestochowski said: “I am really pleased that as a direct result of all the improvements we have made, we are now seen as an even stronger partner by both our customers and suppliers.

“We get regular quality audits and it is a great pleasure to show them how far the company has moved on.

“GP, one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world, recently appointed us a strategic partner in the UK, particularly targeting the security industry.

“The growth in business opportunities now means that the company, employing 25 people, is looking to further expand its production staff and is hoping to offer some apprenticeships, particularly in our logistics department.”

Cell Pack Solutions specialises in making custom-made battery packs in a number of industrial and market sectors, in applications such as vehicle tracking and environmental monitoring.

Mr Czestochowski added: “We now have more than 2,500 unique designs. We take designs from the prototyping stage to full production. Our customers are based throughout the UK.”
