A CUTTING edge South Tyneside company with an international reputation for problem-solving is bidding for success at the South Tyneside Business Awards 2013.

Nine, based at Merchant Court, Monkton Business Park South, Hebburn, specialises in creating bespoke software solutions.

Established in 2011 by David Frame and Andy Walton, the company has built up a national and international client list, using its software expertise to give companies a competitive edge.

This expertise is reflected in its staff, who have first-class degrees and masters in computer science and applied mathematics. Nine has been shortlisted in the Most Innovative Business category at South Tyneside Business Awards, to be staged at South Shields Foreshore on Thursday.

Its customers range from globally recognised brand names such as P&G, Barbour, the NHS, Gentoo and BT to entrepreneurs such as borough-based Harlow Printing,

Nine has developed world-class software solutions to help revolutionise the way companies work.

In recently developed a mobile solution for a car hire company, which eliminates the need for time-consuming administration and enables customers to sign for the vehicle delivery and collection electronically.

This solution has enhanced the company’s offering, improved the customer experience due to faster information transfer and accurate records and generated additional revenue, meaning the company is running more efficiently and saving money.

Nine managing director Andy Walton said: “South Tyneside is a fantastic place to operate a business and the South Tyneside Business Awards reflect the diverse nature of businesses which are making their mark in the region.

Nine has clients in the oil, gas and public sectors, plus housing, engineering and utilities.

Next week’s highly anticipated, Gazette-backed awards recognise South Tyneside’s thriving and innovative business community in eight categories, ranging from Newcomer to Manufacturer of the Year to Service Company and Apprentice of the Year.
