A COMPUTER company is logging on for business expansion at a new base in South Tyneside.

Offering expert advice to business and home computer users, ActivComputing is looking to the future with confidence after moving to new premises at Cleadon Lane Industrial Estate, East Boldon.

The business was founded in 2008 by owner Shaun Purvis, who by then had already spent a decade working in the IT industry.

He said: “The business was founded on the basis of providing professional IT services to local, small businesses.

“The business had a bit of a slow start, due to it being a new business, but it soon started to grow through its reputation.”

Initially based in Sunderland, expansion meant a move was needed, but a planned shift to Bill Quay, Gateshead, fell through, with the company forced to move to a temporary base in Hebburn.

Mr Purvis added: “A customer of ours informed us of this unit which was available and would be suitable for us at Cleadon Lane Industrial Estate, so we had a look and here we are.

“We can now offer professional IT services to home computer users. It’s a service we have always wanted to expand into and now we can, having larger premises and easier access.

“At the moment, ActivComputing consists of three highly-trained engineers and a business manager, with plans to expand in the future.”
