FIRED UP ... Jayne Hart has launched her own HR services business.

THE human touch will help solve business problems across South Tyneside.

Jayne Hart has just launched The HR Dept South Tyneside, Newcastle and Gateshead, based at Tedco Business Works, in Henry Robson Way, South Shields.

Part of a larger HR franchise, the aim of the new firm is to help provide the type of expertise and practical support usually reserved for large organisations with in-house human resources professionals.

The new business incorporates an advice line, to deal with day-to-day personnel queries and tailored one-to-one advice on issues ranging from employment contracts to law advice, plus disciplinary and grievance issues.

Effectively, the HR Dept acts as a human resources service for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Mrs Hart, 43, a married woman with two children, said: “I have lived in the North East since a young child and have recently settled in the Lawe Top area of South Shields.

“The sight of the sea and beach never fails to make me feel very proud and lucky to live here and now to open my new business here.

“Having developed my HR experience over the last 15 years, the opportunity to take
redundancy and really think about what I wanted to do came along.

“I considered many different career routes but kept coming back to what I enjoy and what people tell me I am good at – and that’s human resources.

“I consider myself to be very practical and approachable, with a flair for seeking out sensible solutions and I love nothing more than rolling my sleeves up and getting stuck in.

“I actually enjoy helping to resolve the many challenges that managing staff can present to employees.”

A chartered member of the Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), Mrs Hart’s previous career included helping staff coping with the foot and mouth crisis. Her most recent job involved managing a team of 14 enforcement officers around the country whose role was to protect the environment.

Alastair Woodruff, managing director of Woodruff & Co Property Consultants, who recently called on the services of The HR Dept South Tyneside, Newcastle and Gateshead, said: “As a small but growing business taking on new staff, Jayne’s expertise in the field of HR has given me peace of mind that both my company policies and staff employment contracts are fit for purpose.

“I would highly recommend The HR Dept for local and straightforward advice.”
