A FORMER dental nurse is hoping to help South Tyneside residents boost their health and fitness with the launch of her first fitness DVD.
Louise Scott is now living her dream of being a fitness instructor after setting up her own business, Witness The Fitness, three years ago.
After completing a further training course to boost her skills and knowledge, the 32-year-old was persuaded to record her own workout DVD.
Miss Scott, from Westoe Crown Village, said: “I was a dental nurse full-time, but I had studied sports science in the past. It was always something I wanted to do, so I started working towards personal training qualifications on a weekend, then three years ago decided to go into it full-time.
“The DVD was just something that was mentioned to me when I was doing a course about six months ago and I just thought ‘why not?’
“I got two of the girls who had been training with me, put together some routines, and headed down to Manchester for it to be recorded in professional studios.
“It took half a day and we had great fun. I’m really pleased with the finished product.”
The DVD is split into four sections, each lasting 12 to 15 minutes focusing on the upper body, thighs and bums, high intensity fat burner and the abdominal.
Miss Scott who teaches PE and gymnastics in schools, said: “It is a basic home workout designed for people to do in their own sitting room and around their own lifestyle. They can either do the whole DVD in one go or just particular sections.”
Already 100 of Miss Scott’s DVDs, which is priced £9.99, have been sold.
As well as the home workout DVD, Miss Scott also runs keep-fit sessions at Marine Park in South Shields on Mondays at 7.30pm, Tuesdays at 6.15am and 6.15pm, and Wednesdays at 7.30pm; on Thursdays at Littlehaven car park at 6.15am and 6pm and Saturdays at 9.15am at Marsden beach.
